I created this update
for my friends, associates, and business contacts to let you know about
my new consulting practice and my new book.
My mission in this
note is to let you know about the consulting practice I created so you know what
I’m up to.
Of course, my other
objective is to spread the word so I can make sure that companies and
business people who may need the service I provide know how to contact
me.
Here is a real fast
overview of the eight years leading up to the creation of my new
consulting practice:
- In 1997, I was
part of the founding group that created HomeUSA with Notre Capital
and took it public. In 1998, we sold the company to Fleetwood
Enterprises and I stayed on with the new company. I left in 2001.
- In 2001, I made
an investment in Franchise Concepts, Inc. and joined the management
team as the CFO. In 2004, we sold the company to a long-time
franchisee.
- In 2004, I wrote
and released my first book titled “Never Run Out of Cash: The
10 Cash Flow Rules You Can’t Afford to Ignore”. The book is
written for small business owners and is available at most Houston
area Barnes & Noble stores and at all the online bookstores (Amazon.com,
BN.com,., etc.). You can also buy it
here.
- In August 2004, I
began writing a column each month for Inc. Magazine’s online
edition. You can see the articles at
www.inc.com/resources/finance/columns.html. You can see my most
recent column for Inc. at
http://www.inc.com then scroll down the page to the Resource
Center section of the home page.
- In September
2004, I created my consulting practice.
My practice is
primarily focused on helping business owners, executives, and
entrepreneurs who want/need to take control of the cash flow of their
business.
As you know, one of the problems small business
owners face today is that the overwhelming majority don't really
understand their cash flow. Even those who review financial statements
each month have a hard time figuring out what’s really going on with
their cash flow.
As a result, most business owners struggle with the
financial side of their business and are forced to just hope (and pray)
that everything works out all right with their cash flow. That's a
dangerous and painful business strategy. It doesn’t have to be that way.
My mission is to help small business owners live
the dream of success rather than the nightmare of failure and financial
ruin.
I do that with the
book and with my consulting practice. Here are some of the services I
provide:
Consulting
Type of work includes:
- Implement a tool that provides a crystal clear
view into the true cash flow of your business. I use a unique and
extremely powerful 2-page schedule that shows you exactly what’s
going on with your cash flow. This schedule provides the kind of
insight and understanding the traditional cash flow statement can’t.
- Create earnings and cash flow projections
you can trust.
- Provide insight into what’s going on “behind
the numbers”. This is the key to effective, confident, and
profitable decision making.
- Identify areas where cash is being
“trapped” on your balance sheet. Then identify strategies to turn
those assets back into cash.
- Identify ways to reduce costs in order to
create more cash.
- Develop and implement strategies for
restructuring debt successfully when the cooperation of a lender is
required to solve a cash flow problem.
- Create an analysis to reveal profit or loss
down to the product or service level. Almost every company has a
number of products or services that actually lose money, but they
can’t see it on the face of the financial statements.
- Litigation support.
- Bring a CFO perspective to a company that does
not have a seasoned financial executive in place.
- Provide information to investors and
lenders about a company so they can evaluate management, an
acquisition, or other transaction.
Cash Flow
Coaching/Mentoring
This is a service for clients who want me to be
available for monthly phone or in-person reviews, discussions, counsel,
etc. regarding their new approach to taking control of the cash flow of
their business. Oftentimes this service is valuable for a business owner
who has the Peace of Mind schedule (the cash flow projections schedule I
teach in the book) up and running but wants to have me available to
discuss the schedule each month and review tips and strategies for
maximizing cash flow.
Speaking
I do a number of speaking engagements each year for
business related conventions or meetings. In my presentation, I cut
through all the complicated and confusing accounting and financial
concepts business owners typically hear from CPAs and accountants and
give your audience a very simple, easy-to-understand, step-by-step guide
for taking control of their cash flow.
If you know a business
owner or executive who could benefit from the services I offer, please
have them contact me at 713 962 1646 or by email at
pcampbell@pdq.net.
I also offer the book “Never Run Out of Cash” at
a discount when it is purchased in quantity. This is a great option
for businesses whose customers are small business owners. They can use
the book as a gift, a premium, or in another unique way designed to help
their small business customers.
Thank you very much
for helping me make my new consulting practice and my new book a huge
success. I really appreciate it.
